Youth Programs

For safety purposes, unless otherwise stated, the following classes are for the registered participants only. We ask you to leave your child in our care during class and to pick them up promptly when class is over. If minimum registration has not been met by 8 a.m. the first day of a session, the class may be cancelled.


Lego Camp
With Play-Well Teknologies

Jedi Engineering with LEGO® Materials
Dream It. Build It. Wreck It. Repeat. Kids are already naturally gifted creators. Then they get added inspiration from our specially trained instructors. They dive into our massive collections of LEGO® parts. And while they build elaborate objects, structures and vehicles, they explore fundamental principles of engineering and physics. They also learn to collaborate and create without fear of mistakes. The experience is joyful, the impact long-lasting.


The Force Awakens—Jedi Engineering

In this introductory engineering course for young Jedi! Explore engineering principles by designing and building projects using LEGO® materials such as X-Wings, R2 Units, Energy Catapults, Defense Turrets, and Settlements from a galaxy far, far away. Create motorized and architectural projects with imagination and engineering to defeat the Empire!

Dates: July 16 - July 20, Monday-Friday - 9 am - 12 pm
Duration: 5 Days
Location: Paradise Intermediate School Gym
Ages: This activity is structured for 5-7-year-olds
Fees: $150 (members) / $160 (non-members)

In this advanced engineering course for young Jedi! Discover key engineering concepts such as gear trains, worm drives, pneumatics, and eccentric motion. Build projects from LEGO® materials such as X-Wings, AT-AT walkers, Pod Racers, Star Destroyers, Cloud Cities, Settlements, Fortresses, and other complex machines and structures from a galaxy, far, far away.

Dates: July 16 - July 20, Monday-Friday - 1 pm - 4 pm
Duration: 5 Days
Location: Paradise Intermediate School Gym
Ages: This activity is structured for 7-12-year-old

Fun Fridays

Join us for an afternoon of fun and silly happenings. Special activities will be planned each Friday to end your child's week of hard work and great learning. Every Friday school is in session.

Aquatic Park

Aquatic Park Camp

Join us in our day camp location adjacent to the swimming pool. This program will combine the adventure of day camp with the fun of swimming at the community pool. Crafts, archery, organized games, and special events will fill the summer weeks at Aquatic Park Camp. You may join us on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Your afternoon session fee will include entrance to the second swim session of the day. A concession stand will be available. Children must be 5 years old and have completed kindergarten. A camp T-shirt is to be purchased at time of registration.

Dates: Monday-Friday.
Duration: 9 weeks
Camp Runs from June 11 through August 10, 2018
Morning Session: 7:30 am—12:30 pm
Afternoon Session: 12:30 pm-5:30 pm
Full Day Session: 7:30 am-5:30pm
Location: Aquatic Park.
Ages: 5-12 years old

Camp Kids

Camp Coutolenc

Located at Coutolenc Park in Magalia, this outdoor day camp offers an exciting variety of outdoor activities including archery, crafts, camp cooking, sports and games, hiking, camp safety, fishing, and environmental awareness. Extended Day Camp at Aquatic Park and transportation are also optional. This program is aided by the Prestopino Family Fund.


Instructors: Recreation Staff.
Dates: June 18-22, 2018, Monday thru Friday.
Duration: 1 week.

3:00pm – Bus arrives/departs Ponderosa School
3:15pm – Bus arrives at Aquatic Park
3:15pm-5:30pm – Extended Day Camp at Aquatic Park

Age: This camp is structured for 8-12 years old.
Fee: $125.00 (member)/$135.00 (non-member), $25.00 (transportation option-member), $25.00 (extended day camp optionmember), $30.00 (non-member each option)

Children's Dance Classes


Pre-Ballet

This class is for girls and boys and includes fun music, games and dress up while learning the basics of ballet. Dance code is any color leotard or dance dress, pink tights, and pink ballet shoes. All dress code items are available for purchase at Dance Evolution Studio. Please have hair up in a bun. Boys may wear shorts, a plain fitted t-shirt, and black ballet or jazz shoes. Please bring a water bottle to class.
The final class of the session will be a demonstration that parents are invited to view.

Dates: Tuesdays – 3:00 - 3:45 pm
Session: March 6 – March 27

Tumbling

This class is for boys or girls and teaches basic floor gymnastics. Headstands, handstands, cartwheels, round off's, rolls, and MORE! Students should wear either dance or exercise apparel. Please have hair up and bring a water bottle to class. Students will have bare feet for the class. The final class of the session will be a demonstration that parents are invited to view.

Jazzy Hip Hop

This exciting class is comprised of several different dance styles so that boys and girls may discover the style of dance they enjoy the most. Students will learn some jazz, hip hop and even some tumbling. Students should wear either dance or exercise apparel. Jazz shoes are recommended and are available for purchase at Dance Evolution Studio. Please have hair up and bring a water bottle to class. The final class of the session will be a demonstration that parents are invited to view.

Summer Dance Camp

Summer Dance Camp for girls and boys will include Ballet, Tumbling, Jazz and Hip Hop! Dancers should wear dance apparel and Ballet or Jazz shoes. All apparel is available for purchase at Dance Evolution Studio. Hair must be worn up in a bun, ponytail or braid. Please bring a water bottle and a snack.
